Cyclone Arnab has made landfall near the coastal region of Tamil Nadu, India. The storm, which intensified over the past 24 hours, has forced authorities to evacuate over 100 residents from low-lying areas.
Emergency services have deployed across the affected zone to ensure the safety of displaced individuals. Local officials reported that the cyclone is moving at a speed of 15 km/h, with wind speeds reaching up to 120 km/h. The storm surge has caused minor flooding in several villages, damaging crops and infrastructure.
This is the third cyclone to hit the region this year. Previous storms, including Cyclone Nivar and Cyclone Gulab, caused significant disruption, prompting the government to enhance early warning systems. Cyclone Arnab is expected to weaken within 24 hours, but officials urge continued vigilance.
